Rap is poetry

And I know you're trying man... I can hear you're trying to push it out a bit harder. I think you could do it if you understood how to keep your words on beat man. But the words is what you need work on the most. I'm not going to sit here and bash your shit or whatnot, the beat was actually pretty good. Just start from your lyrics. Make sure you have a half decent rhyming scheme that doesn't overuse lyrics. Also, try coming up with a catchy hook for a chorus. When people listen to a rap song, they listen to the words, then the chorus keeps it in their head so they listen to it again. Then they learn the words, and if you got no hook, and your words are garb', well, you got a song everyone laughs at.
